Hokusai’s Wave

This sculpture was inspired by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”. Re-creating the aquatic feeling of his famous work in my mosaic style, I used hand-etched mother of pearl oyster shell tiles overlaid in a fish scale pattern on a clear acrylic wave-like background.
