This was the very first mosaic I created using my real world pixel technique. It represents the famous self portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci as an old man.
Comprised of 576 colored wooden blocks, many hours were spent sanding down the pieces to expose the lighter wood below. This is most noticeable in the eyes and nose areas.
